Carl,

thank you for this extensive and instructive reply. You are correct about
the routing and all of course, but in the particular environment I was
working back then, it had to be done like this.

And judging from all the helpful replies to Ivan's problem it's not that
uncommon to do static NAT for DMZ servers, or maybe it's a question of
"taste" like some other issues? What's the advantage or disadvantage of
using public addresses in your DMZ, without NAT?
