Pat, The CP GUI works in client/server mode. The GUI is the client and the server is the Management Server. For the GUI to connect to the Management Server the following needs to be configured on the Management Server: $FWDIR/conf/gui-clients file must contain the IP address of the GUI client - it is just a text file. You can add your GUI client's IP address two ways: 1. edit the file directly using VI and insert a line with the IP address. 2. run $FWDIR/bin/cpconfig and follow the menus... Also, it is good practice to keep your GUI service pack level at the same level as the Management Server. In addition, the GUI allocates a random high port and connects to the Management Server's port TCP:258. If there are firewalls, routers /w ACLs, etc. in between, you need to make sure this traffic is allowed through.
