RE: [FW1] VRRPv.2 and Monitored Circuit

VRRPmc is newer than VRRPv2, and it eliminates certain routing problems
as well as the need to configure OSPF in many cases. Therefore, many
Nokia users prefer mc to v2. Digital Migrations has some good VRRP info
on their site. Check out these links:
http://www.digitalmigrations.com/vrrp_&_ospf1.htm
http://www.digitalmigrations.com/ha.htm

Rainfinity's RainWall has more functionality than VRRP, because it is
designed as an active/active load balancing solution, rather than just a
hot-standby. RainWall also monitors the application (FW-1 process and
policy), whereas VRRP only fails over in the event of lower-layer
problems. However, RainWall is not available for the IPSO platform; you
must be running an open OS like Solaris, NT, or Linux.
