RE: [FW1] CVP Antivirus

I use eSafe on a Windows NT platform. It stops most, but not all viruses.
It did not stop the Homepage virus. I use Trend Micro for desktops. It
does a very good job. If I were starting from scratch, I would look at
VirusWall, based on my experience with their desktop product.

The eSafe product is very well documented and easy to install. Aladdin has
a new SMTP relay version of eSafe. That version could work independent of
the firewall. This could be a good thing if a future FW1 service pack
disabled the CVP resource.

Subject: [FW1] CVP Antivirus

Any opinions on Firewall-level anti-virus software?
We have FW 4.1 SP3 and Solaris 2.7.

What's best platform for antivirus? MS Windows or Unix (Solaris, Linux,
...)? And why?

We're looking at:
1) TrendMicro - VirusWall (Solaris)
2) Finjan - SurfinGate (Solaris)
3) Alladin - eSafe (Windows NT)
4) Symantec - Norton Antivirus for Firewalls (maybe onlyWindows NT ?)
5) F-Secure - Antivirus for Firewalls (Windows or Linux)

Thanks in advance,
