RE: [FW1] Out of band Nokia 650 management

I guess the thing I don't understand is how the box can tell it's a modem connected to the console port, and not a PC.  I mean, I'm receiving data, and even get a logon prompt, but I can't send anything back to the box.

Also, can you provide me any information on how to build/purchase a terminalserver box like what you mention?  It seems needlessly complex, but if that's the only way... *sigh*  I'm shocked really, I thought this would work similar to plugging a console modem into a Cisco router.

As far as I know, IP650 hasn't got one serial port. The only solution would be to connect a serial Terminalserver box onto the console port and dial in to the Terminalserver using a modem.

Does anyone know of any way to connect a modem to the 650s console port for dialup administration?  When connected through a modem, I see log messages but cannot get the box to allow a logon.  I've found instructions on Nokia's site for the 440, but not the 650.  The 440 instructions refer to another serial port, which is not externally visible on the 650.  Any help is appreciated.
