Unfortunately CPfw1-41.3-SP3.i386.rpm is only a patch module.(SP means
service pack.)
Therefore your command "rpm -i x" returns dependency error("CPfw1 = 41
is
needed by CPfw1-41.3-SP3 ")

CPfw1-41-vpn+des.i386.rpm(This rpm include SP1) is inside of CKP2000 CD-ROM
not from web site. Therefore you have to get CKP2000 CD-ROM(eval CD also
available.)
first(.rpm itself is only 3.6MB). Applying SP3 after that.

I don't think it better that Checkpoint's applying procedure
 rpm -i --replacefiles CPfw1-41.3-SP3.i386.rpm
it makes misunderstand. It's only a patch package.

regards.

  Did you check where shared lib of libcpc++-libc6.1-2.so.3 in?
  If you install Firewall-1 v4.1 for linux base module
(CPfw1-41-vpn+des.i386.rpm), this file is created as a link file of
libcpc++-3-libc6.1-2.2.10.0.so in /usr/lib dir.This lib is anywhere on my
system.

On Bugtraq website
(
http://www.securityfocus.com/frames/?focus=linux&content=/focus/linux/articles/checkpoint3.html

)
they explain how install SP2 on a RH7.0 (it seems you need just to link a
library), and on Phoneboy website some people make FW1 run with RH7.0

But I think my problem isn't the RH version but really a lib problem from
Checkpoint...

  I haven't tryed yet but I've read some paper which said Firewall-1 for
linux
doesn't work on RHS7.0 wothout some tricks.

I recommend you to read this document first.

#RHS 7.1 may not work because of it's 2.4 kernel.

Subject:  [FW1] Installation FW-1 4.1 SP3 under Linux

Hi All,

I'm new on this list, so I hope I won't be off topic...

We have Red Hat v7.0 on a server Dell PowerEdge 1550 single CPU
I try install FW-1 4.1 SP3.

So, I download the packagke (CPfw1-41.3-SP3.i386.rpm), I type rpm -i
--replacefiles CPfw1-41.3-SP3.i386.rpm and I have this message:
error: failed dependencies:
         CPfw1 = 41 is needed by CPfw1-41.3-SP3

So, I type rpm -i --replacefiles --nodeps CPfw1-41.3-SP3.i386.rpm, the
installation is fine (hum, yes I must create the subdirectories manually
under /opt, ....)

I define FWDIR (export FWDIR=/opt) and I redefine my PATH (export
PATH=$PATH:$FWDIR/bin)
I type cpconfig, and error message:
cpconfig: error while loading shared libraries: libcpc++-libc6.1-2.so.3:
cannot load shared object file: No such file or directory

I go to support Checkpoint and it seems this library is in a OPSEC SDK
package. I download it (4.1.2) but nothing....

Anyone can help me ? ;)

Regards,

Jacques
