[FW1] CheckPoint Firewall-1 High Availability Option

Title: CheckPoint Firewall-1 High Availability Option

        Hello All:

I guess my question is kind of an FAQ but I will ask it again just in case someone has a more updated and better        solution...

My company is running CheckPoint Firewall-1 4.1 on Sun Solaris 2.6 platform as a standalone installation.

I am thinking of having a failover solution for Firewall-1.  This failover solution should at the minimum accomplish the

        following tasks:

        - When either of the CheckPoint Firewall-1 fails for any reasons (e.g. hard-drive fails/broken Quad Fast Ethernet

Card/Processor becomes non-functional/Firewall-1 Application not responding...), the other should pick up within

        an expected period of time.

        - When both firewall servers are running, they should do load balancing.

I have checked on CheckPoint website and have also read a few failover white papers.

I would appreciate it if anyone can point me to the right direction in terms of getting the right kind of failover application  software from what vendors and what the architecture for the failover solution should look like.

        Thanks,

        Thuan Pham
