RE: [FW1] Setting alerts

For alertf you need to use the following syntax:

alertf N-seconds N-alerts alert-command

Example: alertf 120 5 fwalert

This command will execute 'fwalert' whenever 5 alerts in the past 120
seconds occurs. (Note: for fwalert, it's handy to have the system status
viewer open-- it will popup an alert window upon receiving an fwalert).

Subject: [FW1] Setting alerts

Hello All,

I have been trying to setup some kind of alert on our firewall to inform us
if there is an abnormally high number of rejects. I have been trying to use
alertf, but I can't seem to get the hang of it. Is there anyone out there
who is familiar with the alertf command? Is there another tool I can use
instead?

Thanks alot,
Pete
