You can install the license on the Management Server or the Firewall Module: If you are ok with allowing communications to your management server, then put the licenses on your management server. However, if you have your management module and firewall module(s) in a distributed configuration - you can have the topology and policies downloaded from the firewall modules. To allow topology downloads from the fw modules see: http://support.checkpoint.com/kb/docs/public/securemote/4_0/pdf/topology-fwm odule.pdf With this mode, the users establish an SSL connection to the fw modules to download the topology information. Placing the Secure Client licenses on the fw modules allows you to download policies from them as well. With this configuration, you don't have roaming users establish communications with your management server. If you do this, and you are using RFC1918 addresses on the inside, just make sure your fw module objects are defined with their valid IP's (usually external) in your policy - otherwise Secure Client users will try to establish connections to the internal interface address of the fw modules and things won't work.
