The "too many internal hosts" error is because the firewall has counted more IP addresses on your internal network than what you are licensed for. In the conf directory there should be a file defined called "external.if". Take a look at the contents of this file and make sure that the interface name is identical to the name of your external interface. For example: if your Internet connection is hooked up to slot 1 port 3 than you would specify this as 'eth-s1p3c0' in your "external.if" file. Stop and restart the firewall service after changing the external.if file if you need to make changes. -Jeff -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Ale Sent: Thursday, March 29, 2001 5:37 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [FW1] NOKIA - Too many hosts - IP reversed ? The /var/log/messages file of my NOKIA box (IPSO 3.3, FW1 4.1-SP2) is registering the error "kernel: FW-1: too many internal hosts". I know what the message means, but the strange is that it also shows a list of detected IPs duplicated, some of them reversed ( like 10.0.0.1 appears twice, as 1.0.0.10 and as 10.0.0.1 ). What does it mean ? Is it normal ?
