but my DHCP server is functioning fine. All clients
are renewing their leases every 6 hours with no problems. If there are some
clients getting this address, how can they get to the internet?
Microsoft said this is an autoconfiguration ip
address. But my internal ip range is 192.168.X.X

I
think that is the default IP range that Windows 2K and 98 machines pick an
address from if no DHCP server gives them one...
I have been getting a lof of errors in my event
log with some ip addresses that do not belong to my network:
169.254.X.X
when i type in fw tab -t host_table >
lichost.txt
I can see that the src ip is 169.254.X.X and
destination to somewhere on the internet.
Any idea of what and where this ip address is
coming from?
Thanks
