I just wanted to state that you are incorrect in stating that Nokia's do
not perform state table syncronization (thus losing all of your active
connections upon a failover).
We have Nokia's here and they do perform state table syncronization and
upon a failover do keep the active connections (though there is currently a 3
second "lag"). We use a dedicated cross-over cable at 100MB/s FD for this
purpose and of course have defined the opposite side in the sync.conf file.
Hope that this clears things up.

You need it for Checkpoint HA, which includes state synchronisation.
You can setup Nokias or whatever without the HA license, but you won't be
able to state sync, so connections will be lost during failover.
