Is there anyone actually from CheckPoint and not some reseller that can actually confirm that Solaris x86 will be dropped? Back when 3.x was still out I was told that 4.0 will not support Solaris x86, then 4.1 (CP2000) will not support Solaris x86, now the next version won't support it. Basically I've heard this story for 2.5 - 3 years now, and they still have it. If CheckPoint themselves have actually confirmed this then can it be posted here with the name of the employee that stated so? I may not run Solaris x86 myself, but I've seen a whole lot of "rumors" for years now on this, and they may affect people that already run it or plan on using it. Personally, I am a bit curious, but I only accept answers from CheckPoint, not a reseller or someone who has a friend who has a friend.... Solaris on Intel is better than NT, but since Red Hat is now supported and it seems that CP will no longer support solaris on intel, would be a good idea to go to a Linux plattaform. My experience is that it is even faster than solaris x86, best wishes Aylton ----- Original Message ----- From: "Tony Wong" <[email protected]> To: "Aylton Souza, CISSP" <[email protected]>; "Vincent, Mike" <[email protected]>; <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, March 21, 2001 12:45 PM Subject: Re: [FW1] fw-1 on solaris x86 > What is wrong with Solaris x86?
