Chris, When you have a module logging locally, rather than to the management station, you can force a log switch on the remote by running the following on the management station: fw logswitch -h remote If you want to get the log to the management station, you have two choices: 1: copy the log to the management station, leaving the switched log on the module. This is done with: fw logswitch -h remote + 2: transfer the log to the management station, removing the original from the module. This is done with: fw logswitch -h remote - If you don't use either, then you don't get a copy of the log on the management station. For either case, you can specify the name of the switched log. That name will be used on the module, and the copy on the management station will be named remote.<name> Tim -- Timothy Frost mailto:[email protected] EDS New Zealand Fax: +64-4-495-0473 8 Gilmer Terrace Phone: +64-4-495-0504 P O Box 3647 Wellington New Zealand -----Original Message----- From: Chris Arnold [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Wednesday, March 07, 2001 3:24 PM To: '[email protected] ' Subject: [FW1] logswitch options What are the [+|-] options for with: fw logswitch [-h target] [+|-][oldlog] Am I correct in assuming that: fw logswitch my_log_file.log will move $FWDIR/log/fw.log to $FWDIR/log/my_log_file.log?
