Checkpoint has documents in their public configuration documents section on setting up a VPN between Cisco Pix and a Cisco router with IPSEC IOS loaded. I have personally setup VPNs with both. One thing to note is that the VPN throughput on a Cisco 2500 series was not that high. I would go with either 1700 or 2600 series router depending on what interfaces you need on the router. I know you did not want another Checkpoint VPN-1 module but the new Checkpoint 5 user Small office license and a security appliance like Intrusion.com's PDS2100 or the Nokia IP110 with be very comparably priced to a Cisco 2600 and the IOS firewall/IPSEC feature set. -----Original Message----- From: "Roßmanith, Peter" To: [email protected] Sent: 3/1/01 8:45 AM Subject: [FW1] topology with vpn-1 and router hi world, i am searching for a cheap solution to get a small office (5 pc) into my vpn (i dont want to install a vpn-1 modul on this lokation). i have different vpn-1 modules on different locations. i want to connect the office by vpn to this locations. the office should be able to browse in the internet. i think about a router with vpn capabilities. has anyone expieriences with a config. like this ? any suggestions ?
