All: I've gotta go with Dean on this one. I vastly prefer the Nokia boxes in most of my environment, managed hosting, but our corporate network is behind FW-1 on NT and it has been fine - uptime is not an issue - it simply NEVER bluescreens and except for FW service packs we never install any "packages" - why would you do that on a firewall anyway? I don't care if sendmail is free on Linux cause we ain't gonna send mail from the firewall - so rebooting is not an issue...it works, it's cheap and for performance, we are dumping a DS3 into it (set at 9mb), utilizing 30% average, and it doesn't cough. I'm a bit of a snob, so I only tell my buddies about the IP650's, but the NT box isn't bad at all. alan may ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dean Cunningham" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, February 22, 2001 3:50 PM Subject: RE: [FW1] Re: Nokia vs NT (and solaris, just for kicks) > > Installing package.
