When setting up HA you use VRRP Monitored circuit. The Nokia that is the master send out a broadcast hello packet. The slave sits and listens for this hello You set the slave to take over if a hello is not heard, 2 hellos or 3 what ever you set it to. Yes it uses a virtual IP and MAC If you are using a lot of encryption I would get an encryption card Load Balancing is coming in CheckPoint Thomas Stala [email protected] Hope this helps -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]]On Behalf Of Jan-Ivar Hansen Sent: Wednesday, February 21, 2001 5:19 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [FW1] NOKIA IP440 and HA Does anyone know how is HA implemented on Nokia IP440? Does it use one of the Ethernet Interfaces as a hartbeat? Does it use virtual IP's and MAC-addresses as Stonebeat? Does it support load balancing or is it just failover? What about encryption? Throughput compared to NT? Anything else I should consider? All information is very appriciated!
