[FW1] working with log files

I'm a newbie to checkpoint fw. Working with unix platform how can I prune
fwd logs without restarting the fw? We would like to prune the fwd.elg log
specifically. I didn't see much relating to log file maintenace in the docs.

how can we do a shrinkfile and get the top 20 meg of this file to disappear
while not shutting off the firewall?  can you ask the fw1 mailing list?
