Then why don't you just license the internal side. Since you can maintain your network setting regardless of external addressing, this will allow you to move the firewall without changing the license. Contrary to some expectations the license does not have to be the external interface and it is irrelevant to the Firewall object's defined host address, which may very well be the external interface depending on the situation. I have defined internal firewalls with a private network scheme, so I know this is possible. (I would just write up the rationale in the license request comment block to tell checkpoint what you are up to.) I also have firewalls with internal addresses licensed, so I know that is also possible. I have never tried a loopback interface. I would licnese you internal and that way you can just change the ruleset/interface properties. I'm not trying to bypass the process. I have a FW that we send out to meetings a few times a year in different hotels around the world. We get internet access from the local hotel, but, with every hotel, the IP address changes. I would like to put the original license to a loopback so that FW will be licensed, but the Interfaces will have different IP addresses with each hotel. Thanks all for your replies. I guess the easiest way to do this is to test in the lab. I'll try it and see if it works. I was hoping someone might have already invented this wheel.... Thanks again. ================================================================================ To unsubscribe from this mailing list, please see the instructions at http://www.checkpoint.com/services/mailing.html ================================================================================
