Title: RE: [FW1] Remote OS Management

Last I checked that was not secure.  No?

hmmm...

why not just use VNC?  In case you're not familiar -- Virtual Network
Computing from AT&T in Britain.

Remote machine management from anywhere in the world via a java applet in a
browser window.  Works wonders.

Subject: [FW1] Remote OS Management

Greetings Everyone!
I'm just thinking out aloud here... If I want to remotely manage a
number
FW-1 boxes (for patches, FW-1 upgrades etc) the choice of platforms
would
include Nokia or UNIX, but has anyone got an opinion about how you would
remotely manage an NT box (or if you would even want to!). My first
thought
would be a PC Anywhere type application on the box accessed through a
VPN,
or modem. But then I remembered that Win2K includes a Windoze Terminal
Server thin client gizmo (BTW: A horrible beast to licence, even though
it's
included "free" with the OS). Perhaps I could use Win2K TS for remote
administration. Has anyone done this, or better still has anyone got
FW-1
(sp3) running on Win2K?

Cheers, Jamie.

PS: Thanks to everyone that responded to my AIX query.
