When you do not define or incorrectly define the firewall external interface during installation, You may face some messages like that you saw in the nt event viewer. In this case first of all, stop the firewall with fwstop command. Afterward, you have to create external.if file in $FWDIR/conf directory and you have to write alias name of external interface (eth0,qfe1 etc) in this file ,and you must delete fwd.h and fwd.hosts files which is found in $FWDIR/database directory. Finally, start the firewall with fwstart command. Another possibility is your firewall may exceed license limitation. In this case you should call your reseller. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]]On Behalf Of Blomfield, Adam Sent: 01 Þubat 2001 Perþembe 21:56 To: '[email protected]' Subject: [FW1] FW1 Errors in NT System Log I inherited a FW1 box when I took over this network, and last night the box decided to take a nose dive and I had to reinstall both the OS (NT4.0 SP6) and the FW1 (4.1 SP3) software. It seems to be working fine except that I am getting hundreds of entries into the NT System log a minute that state the following Date: 2/1/01 Event ID: 1 Time: 1:51:12PM Source: FW1 User: N/A Type: Error Computer: TULSABRICK Category: None Description: FW1: , 204.198.135.37 There are literally hundreds of these each with a different IP address. Does anyone have any idea what this message is? I couldn't find anything relevant on either Checkpoints site or the phoneboy FAQ. Any help is greatly appreciated.
