[FW1] "Failed to authenticate: System error"

Has anyone seen this message before:?

"reason Client Encryption:  Failed to authenticate , System Error"

I receive this error on rule 0 when my SecuRemote users first attempt to authenticate - they get through on the second attempt.  The user sees "Failed to Authenticate, system error" and/or "Unable to communicate with site....".  When asked to log in again, it goes through.

I am using Novell NDS as an LDAP server for authentication.  I am running 4.1, SP3 on NT 4.0 SP6.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
