Read the 3rd paragraph. It contains some great info on what you are looking for. http://www.enteract.com/~lspitz/armoring.html Duke -----Original Message----- From: Alexander Hoogerhuis [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Wednesday, January 31, 2001 6:35 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [FW1] Solaris 2.[678] install and minimum packages for FW-1 I'm trying to find a text outlining what the minimum set of packages that needs to be present for FW-1 4.[01] to install happily, and not more. I'm also sure that this question must have been answered before (but i can't find anything in any archive or on securityfocus.org about this). Currently I have installations based on these packages: system SUNWadmr System & Network Administration Root system SUNWcar Core Architecture, (Root) system SUNWcsd Core Solaris Devices system SUNWcsl Core Solaris, (Shared Libs) system SUNWcsr Core Solaris, (Root) system SUNWcsu Core Solaris, (Usr) system SUNWdfb Dumb Frame Buffer Device Drivers system SUNWesu Extended System Utilities system SUNWhmd SunSwift SBus Adapter Drivers system SUNWkey Keyboard configuration tables system SUNWkvm Core Architecture, (Kvm) system SUNWlibC Sun Workshop Compilers Bundled libC system SUNWlibms Sun WorkShop Bundled shared libm system SUNWloc System Localization system SUNWpd PCI Drivers system SUNWploc Partial Locales system SUNWploc1 Supplementary Partial Locales system SUNWqfed Sun Quad FastEthernet Adapter 32bit Driver system SUNWscpu Source Compatibility, (Usr) system SUNWsndmr Sendmail root system SUNWsndmu Sendmail user system SUNWsolnm Solaris Naming Enabler system SUNWswmt Install and Patch Utilities system SUNWudfr Universal Disk Format 1.50 This gives me an error whilst running "fwconfig" for FireWall-1 4.0 where it coredumps at some points, but happily seem to continue without any ill effect. Someone did give me a brief explanation involving /lib/libC.5.0 and a few files in /usr/ucb, but I've still not resolved this. Anyone have any input or pointers? cheers, Alexander -- Alexander Hoogerhuis FYI: perl -e 'print $i=pack(c5,(41*2),sqrt(7056),(unpack(c,H)-2),oct(115),10);' ============================================================================ ==== To unsubscribe from this mailing list, please see the instructions at http://www.checkpoint.com/services/mailing.html ============================================================================ ==== ================================================================================ To unsubscribe from this mailing list, please see the instructions at http://www.checkpoint.com/services/mailing.html ================================================================================
