eSafe Gateway(tm) has scanned this mail for viruses, vandals and suspicious attachments and has found it to be CLEAN. ______________________________________________________________ HI Folks Friend of mine was installing a rather large rule base and during install he got an error and the GUI closed. After restarting the GUI, it is connecting to the Mngmt and is reading objects. When loading the rules it's bringing up an error again, saying something wrong within rulebase and GUI is terminating. He's not able to connect with the Policy-Editor to install the rules again or doing something like that. I don't know yet the detailed error which is coming up now. But is there a way to change some config-file so the GUI is coming up empty with no rule or coming up with an older rule-base so he could install that older one?! Or something in that way?! System is a Solaris-FW and Management on the same machine. My questions: - is there a maximum of rules? If so, what to do? - Can I just kill the Mngmt-Server without stopping the fw-module and restart it again? Which process is it? It's urgent!
