Feel free to take a peek at the Netra t1. Despite the rather confusing nomenclature, the device is rather inexpensive, is 1U high and has 2 FastEthernet ports on board. If you need more, a tight squeeze for a Sun PCI QFE is available. The whole system weighs in anywhere between $2500-10000 depending on configuration.
