Rodney, You can stop the service without any issues as long as you are not logging from things like RealSecure, or any other 3rd party product that can log to the firewall's log daemon. -Mike |--------+-----------------------> | | "Rodney | | | Lacroix" | | | <RLACROIX@vel| | | cro.com> | | | | | | 01/12/2001 | | | 11:36 AM | | | | |--------+-----------------------> >-----------------------------------------------------------------------| | | | To: [email protected] | | cc: (bcc: Mike Semaniuk/Triumph) | | Subject: [FW1] ELA Server - redirected logs | >-----------------------------------------------------------------------| I keep getting ELA Server log redirects in my log file. I notice that the log server (the actual firewall) keeps showing messages that the "Log Server 127.0.0.1" went down. Is this a result of the ELA Proxy service running (NT)? Can I stop that service and, more importantly, will it help or hurt me? This happens several times during the day - very frustrating.
