When working with NT networking... you need to make sure you use WINS (if you have it setup) or the good old LMHOSTS file. There are a couple of good docs on Check Point's Support site under "Public Configuration Docs"... see: http://support.checkpoint.com/kb/index.html Quick note, if you are using LMHOSTS and logging into a domain, etc... you need at least the following: In this example the NT domain name is mydom and the PDC is pdcsrv. --- 192.168.1.1 pdcsrv #PRE #DOM:mydom 192.168.1.1 "mydom \0x1B" #PRE 192.168.1.1 "mydom \0x1C" #PRE --- ...make those entries in the LMHOSTS file: on Win9x under \windows on WINNT/2K \winnt\system32\drivers\etc make sure you DO NOT use the "lmhosts.sam" file..that is the sample file. make sure there are EXACTLY 15 spaces between the first set of quotes and \0x1B and \0x1C . Otherwise it won't work! then run NBTSTAT -R to reload and cache the new entries...make sure to use a capital "R".. if you type NBTSTAT -c it should display the new entries you made... if not, double check the LMHOSTS file... Also, use the latest build of SecuRemote as there are NT Browsing issues with the older ones... Every thing worked fine except speed was tarribly slow. Recently I upgraded my internet connection to Cablemodem Broadband from At&T/MediaOne. Now I get authenticated by the firewall instantly, but when I try to browse the company network, I get the error 53, saying netwok path not found. If I see the netstat then it sends packet for the connection using netbios-ssn but there is no reply from the other side. it says: TCP a.b.c.d:netbios-ssn SYN_SENT Any help in resolving this issue is highly appreciated.
