Hi, Unless you have different licenses you need to keep the exact same setup with your backup firewall i.e. Host name and IP. Two reasons; 1) to be legal ( Call Your Check Point Rep), 2) If you firewall fails all you need to do is unplug the old one and plug the new one in, put the interfaces up and their you go. For all your Firewall-1 questions and answers go to http://www.phoneboy.com For the rules their in The $FWDIR/conf/objects.C and $FWDIR/conf/*.W files contain you network objects and rules in a semi-human readable format. I need to configure a backup firewall with same firewall rules. What files do I need to copy from the orignal firewall to the backup firewall. Also I need to install license on the backup firewall.
