Well I had the same problem ... After hours of reading sources and a few runs of truss
I found out, that patchadd does a su nobody in the middle of the script ... Now I had
my box a bit secured by using umask 077 ... Thanks to that the patch was untarred with
wrong permissions. doing a chmod -R 777 * in the dir where I extracted the patch resolved
the problem (maybe eaven 755 had worked, but I hadn't the will to try ;))
