Re: [FW1] dr watson apperaring when loading rules from gui client

Hi

My workstation is nt server 4.0, sp5.

Firewall manager and gateway are also nt server 4.0 sp5.

But my buddyat work has got windows 2000 installed and the same happens to
him. Both of us have got the gui installed to manage the firewall.

So it seems that the problem arises on the fact that the gui is not able to
load the rules, independently from where you are trying to do that.

I have many rules, 130 or so, perhaps that is a problem in itself.

Hi all

>From one day ago, and suddenly, my firewall manager is unable to load rules.
I use the gui client, connect to management server, load policies fine,
objects fine, but when it gets to rules loading, it crashes after several
seconds, showing a message: server is disconnected adn the Dr. Watson
appears and fwpolicy process goes to hell.

I have also tried to use the gui client not only from my workstation but on
the management station itself and on the firewall gateways, with the same
result.

Testing with command line my gateway loads the policy perfectly (fw load
*.w target) and also it is working, so the main functionality (firewalling)
keeps working, but the problem is that I cannot modify my rulebase.

Anyone has suffered this problem?

I´m running fw1 vpn des version 4.0, sp5 on nt machines, both management
console and firewall module.

Any help would be much appreciated, as I´ve been fighting all the day with
no result.

Regards

Jesus Calvo
