Lynn, As I understand your concern is integrating firewall machine with the Gigabit Network. As for as Checkpoint Firewall is concerned it is independent of your Gigabit network. All that you need to do is choose a box (either NT or Unix) with multiple NIC's (Based on Subnets required). Configure routing on that box which can communicate with your internal network and Internet.
