Even if MS VPN works with CP FW-1, it would never work with FWZ, since it is CP's proprietary protocol. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Saturday, December 02, 2000 6:19 AM To: [email protected]; [email protected] Subject: RE: [FW1] SecureRemote W2000 Don't fire up MS-VPN. No need. You should be able to load the SR (i'm assuming your using 4166 ) and connect to your firewall. I use Win2k SR all the time w/ no MS-VPN. Here is what I am getting: Connect to the ISP-> launch the MS-VPN (the guys at UUNET told me to do that) I get the FW window AS soon as I go for authentication a MS windows pops up and says "Error 678-there was no answer" This is my first experience with W2000 and secure remote. Acutally, my first experience with SR 4.1 I am trying for a encrypted connection using FWZ. Any pointers are greatly appreciated.
