Disable 64-bit mode An easy way to do this would be to cd /platform/sun4u and edit the boot.conf file. You would just comment out the line for 64-bit mode and reboot the machine. As for IP forwarding, if you do not disable IP forwarding in the OS the system has a window when the firewall is not up and it will forward all packets that it receives. This can be a huge security risk! You should always disable IP forwarding on a firewall in the OS as well as the firewall software. Best regards, Marc Jacquard SR. When installing on Solaris 2.7, it (CP2000) complains that it won't run with the 64bit kernel. Does anyone know how to disable that and run 32bits? Bill -----Original Message----- From: Alonzo Vera [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Wednesday, November 29, 2000 12:43 PM To: '[email protected]' Subject: [FW1] Solaris and IP-Forwarding Hi everyone, I have a doubt; the manual says "disable IP Forwarding in the kernel" for solaris2 before install the Checkpoint FW-1. What happens if I don´t do that?. It suppose that the "IP Forwarding" opcion on the FW-1 configuration is enought to control it and disable it if the FW-1 is not running, isn´t it? ============================================================================ ==== To unsubscribe from this mailing list, please see the instructions at http://www.checkpoint.com/services/mailing.html ============================================================================ ==== ============================================================================ ==== To unsubscribe from this mailing list, please see the instructions at http://www.checkpoint.com/services/mailing.html ============================================================================ ==== ================================================================================ To unsubscribe from this mailing list, please see the instructions at http://www.checkpoint.com/services/mailing.html ================================================================================
