Jeff, You can have one policy server for multiple gateways. Secure Clients will be given an option (in a multiple policy server scenario) of which policy to fetch. Yes, you can combine licenses. Having a gateway function as a policy server is entirely possible. Having the management server function as a policy server is entirely IMPOSSIBLE. The policy server can be ANY device in the structure that is running FW module with encryption. Users will get their topology and policy then from the gateway, no need to make your management server remotely accessible. I am surprised that Check Point is unclear on this products capabilities, but anything is possible. My reps seem to know what they are doing.
