RE: [FW1] 4.1 & on Nortel routers

Title: RE: [FW1] 4.1 & on Nortel routers

Tim,
Are you going to have virus scanning of http and ftp traffic that will be going through a Nokia box with FW1?

If so I would be interested in knowing what product you will us and how you will set this up etc.

Cheers,
dj

Our parent company use Nortel boxes for VPN ONLY - they have explicitly
advised us NOT to use these boxes for firewalling (we will use mixture of
NT and Nokia platforms for Checkpoint FW-1).

Support/Pre-Sales sucks on the Nortel Contivity - in Europe anyway.

Yes,  you have to install backward compatibility module, and with that, the
4.0
license for embedded that you got with 4.0.  I have it on good authority
that check
point will be offering a little or nothing upgrade from the contivity or
router to
an equal functionality firewall (and if applicable (CES) vpn).  You can
contact your
local check point reps for info.
