Hello Matt,
By default, communication between fw modules and
management console is encrypted (you set the encryption key by issuing command
'fw putkey'). So you don't have to encript from de fw module to the console
module.
If you want to set a VPN from a site to another,
then you must have two fw modules with the same encryption algorithm (DES, 3DES
or FWZ).

Hi all,
I am trying to set up encryption on a remote
firewall. The license on the remote firewall has the 3DES license.
My management console does not have the 3DES license. Do I need the
management console to have the 3DES license to set up encryption on the
remote? Is it that I have no clue?? You decide!!!! (I am
pulling for the second one myself)
