The routing protocol needs to be able to failover to the other site, once the traffic gets to the firewall it should be able to handle it fine. -----Original Message----- From: Hussaini, Adnan [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Tuesday, November 07, 2000 1:20 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [FW1] Failover between two geographically separated firewalls Hi Folks, I would appreciate any help of the following issue: We have three offices all connected thru dedicated T1 lines. We also have a checkpoint firewall v4.1 at our main location and internet access. The other two offices also access internet thru the main office. We are planning to add another firewall and a internet access at one of the other two locations. The reason we want to add the second firewall and second internet connection is that we want automatic failover as well as load balancing. The requirement is simple: we want internet access to be available all the time thru the other firewall / internet connection if one firewall / internet connection goes down. Please not that we are talking about failover between separate geographic locations. Is this possible thru the Checkpoint firewall v4.1 or we have to buy a third party solution? Thanks.
