Newpkg is the utility run on a Nokia platform that performs either an installation or an upgrade (preserving the previous installation, hence, the ability to "uninstall" or run a previous release should problems arise with the current one). There are two parts to the Nokia as on any other OS: the core OS and the firewall product. On the Nokia, the OS is called IPSO and you already know the files for FW-1. Normally, the IPSO is completely independent of the FW-1 package you are running. By that, I mean that if you installed IPSO 3.2 and it supports CKP-2000, then it should also support CKP 4.0 and 3.0. Unless otherwise stated, you may continue to upgrade the FW-1 prodcut without upgrading the OS. We went from 3.0 through 4.0 SP5 on IPSO 3.2.1. Check Point manages the software for the management console and the master console. For the most part, it is independent of the the firewall module that runs on the Nokia platform. The firewall module is managed in conjunction with Nokia. The IPSO is soley managed by Nokia (to the best of my knowledge). David C. We have a Nokia IP600 with Firewall-1 4.1SP1. When I do fw ver it says Checkpoint VPN-1 and Firewall-1 Version 4.1 SP1 Build 41492 IPSO build-11 SDK 849 [VPN+DES] I'm running IPSO 3.2.1-fcs1 I have remote management on an NT Workstation that is Checkpoint VPN-1 and Firewall-1 Version 4.1 SP1 Build 41439 [VPN+DES+STRONG] I've downloaded the fw4.1-sp-2ipso3.2des and fw4.1-sp2strong files from NOKIA. Do I need a different install file to upgrade the NT workstation? Also, are there more detailed install instructions for this than what I'm seeing on Nokia's site? They just say run newpkg. I guess I upgrade the NT Remote Management first then the Nokia box?
