The part number CPFW-EPC-U-V41 correspond the sum of of Firewall Module ( unlimited ) and an Enterprise Managament Console. In other words is just a Firewall-1 for unlimited IPs. The part number that is correct for VPN is: CPVP-VEE-U-DES-V41 (for DES support) or CPVP-VEE-U-3DES-V41 for 3DES support. What may happen with this customer is that they have received a box ( containing manuals and CDs)that have the software media , but the important thing is the corresponding certificate key that activates the sopftware. CPFW-EPC-U-v41 (Enterprise Center) I have a client that purchased this version and the installation folder has a sticker which claims DES edition, but on their firewall object no encryption schemes show on the VPN tab. The licenses are installed and valid. I am thinking their license does not allow VPN's...but I can't find any doc on Checkpoint's website to verify this.
