I find it's better to run FW1 on NT Server instead of Workstation. The performance on Server is slightly better than on Workstation for some reason. Not to mention that in the future, Checkpoint is thinking about not supporting Workstation as a platform for FW-1. -Jeff -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]]On Behalf Of [email protected] Sent: Monday, October 16, 2000 10:13 AM To: [email protected]; [email protected] Subject: RE: [FW1] NT server or NT workstation as Operating System ? I ran it fine on NT Workstation for 3 years. The 10 user limit is the connections to the workstation not through it. It doesn't limit all software to 10 connections only Microsoft's. Even Netscape server will not be limited by this. However, I switched to NT Server recently to benefit from some of Server better resource management. It's not recommended to run Checkpoint FW-1 on NT Workstation. This limitation is based only from the licenses offered by Microsoft. NT Workstation is licensed for 10 concurrent network connections only.
