[FW1] Availability of FWZ1 patches for fw-1 v4.0 [VPN]
I've noticed that the Checkpoint download site only lists the
VPN+DES and VPN+STRONG (3DES) versions of the service
packs for Firewall-1 v4.0 on Windows-NT.
Previously, VPN (i.e. FWZ1 encryption) versions were also
available, but these are no longer listed. I assume that there
were also once "no encryption" versions as well, although I've
never actually used these.
Most of my recent Firewalls are running the DES version of
Firewall-1 v4.0 or v4.1. However, I still have many VPN (FWZ1)
versions of Firewall-1 v4.0 in the field which I need to keep patched
up to date. Does anyone know the best way ahead?
Can I install the DES version of the patches on a VPN (FWZ1) Firewall
without any problems? Is there any Checkpoint statement on this?
Are the VPN patches available anywhere? Are they still being developed?
Do I need to re-install the DES version of Firewall-1 and then use the DES
patches? (I know that this will work, but I'd like to avoid it if possible).
