[FW1] Checkpoint FW1 and SonicWALL VPN

I've read the how-to pdf
ftp://ftp.sonicwall.com/pub/info/FW-1_to_SonicWALL_VPN.pdf but it's unclear
about something.  The first step tells me to check the Firewall object and
make sure to enable Encryption Domain and select Manual IPSEC.  Currently,
our setup does not have these settings enabled.  My question is if I do,
will this affect the existing rules (i.e. access to certain websites behind
the firewall) that don't use this.
