Since SecuRemote is a free download, anyone who really wanted another *crack* at your FW could easily get around any disabling you may do. I would think that server-side security is the answer - I can't envision what the "just in case" might entail if your firewall is properly configured and maintained. In other words, when you remove their FW account, they become equivalent to any other hacker in the world, except that the most astute of them may have written down your FW external IP.
