RE: [FW1] Error : "not connected" FTP Problem

Thanks to all that replied on-line and off.

Based on that feedback we have implemented a fix as per
http://www.phoneboy.com/fw1/faq/0106.html

Whilst the code is 4.0 it looks like 4.1 is the same.

The fix has been implemented for 2 and a half days and we have not had one
failed ftp session. So it must be fixed :-)

One thing I have learnt is that during an FTP session for each file
transfered, a new port is used. This is why our failures were random and
another client would make no difference.

Try using passive mode. Also checking the client is using valid ports for
the data connections might lead to something. Trying different command line
clients (ncftp, or other open source ones). Also upgrade your FW to a newer
SP.

Dean,

Are you by chance running into reserved ports? Each
file transferred is going to use another port #, and with
that many FTPs, you may be bumping into one??

Robert
