Why not use switches and routers to segment out your network so if people are being naughty and switching ips simply won't route to begin with. -byron -----Original Message----- From: Kwast, Jeroen [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Tuesday, September 05, 2000 6:51 AM To: '[email protected]' Subject: RE: [FW1] rules according to the mac address hi i want one PC to access to one of my webserver and not the others. If i give the ip address, it may happen that someone can change the ip address of his pc and can access the webserver(the PC is in the corporate network and the webserver is in the DMZ. So i want to give rules based on the MAC address. Is it possible ??? if yes how ???? Or is there some other way ?? regards anil Hello, A mac address is also easy to change so if it is possible, the effect will be the same. Better is to add some form of authentication like user/client/session authentication. Hope this helps, Jeroen ============================================================================ ==== To unsubscribe from this mailing list, please see the instructions at http://www.checkpoint.com/services/mailing.html ============================================================================ ==== ================================================================================ To unsubscribe from this mailing list, please see the instructions at http://www.checkpoint.com/services/mailing.html ================================================================================
